GOSPEL BOMBS BY
DANNEY
BALL, BMI
This is the first Gospel song I ever wrote and has become my trademark tune.
It's a true story
and you will understand what a powerful impact my father had
on my life as you read the lyrics
to this song. My father passed away the day
after 9/11 so it has been just over 8 years but as
long as I can sing this song
his ministry will be alive through me. My prayer is that you will be
blessed by
the song ... and maybe even be in the audience when I sing it ... and maybe you will
catch
one of me and my father's "Gospel Bombs" ... GBY&PTL ... Danney
1st VERSE:
Those tracts my father
ordered came in bundles through the mail
with drawings showing sinners and the
devil down in hell
each pamphlet had a message to kids and dads and moms
we
rolled them up in cellophane and called them Gospel Bombs
..
2nd VERSE:
We
considered it our mission field on Sunday afternoon
to plan a route around the
town that went passed each saloon
we loaded up that scooter with everything we
had
a powerful evangelistic team here come me and dad
.
CHORUS:
Then
it was Daddy's Gospel Bombs away
a plan of hope to ease the pain
we'll walk
with Jesus down streets of glory
here comes a Gospel Bomb to tell the story
.
INSTRUMENTAL
SOLO:
(This is where Danney throws Gospel Bombs in the audience)
.
VOCAL
BRIDGE:
Good news for any life that sin has nearly blown apart
Let this Gospel
Bomb create a love expolsion in your heart
.
3rd VERSE:
Sometimes I get
discouraged when times are not that good
and my heart is feeling heavy not quite
the way it should
my thoughts drift back to other days when I was just a kid
to
the thought of sharing Jesus' love like me and my father did
.
REPEAT CHORUS:
Then
it was Daddy's Gospel Bombs away
a plan of hope to ease the pain
we'll walk
with Jesus down streets of glory
here comes a Gospel Bomb to tell the story
.
TAG:

I've
always wanted to have a University President help me throw a few Gospel Bombs ...
and I got my chance
at the annual BOB brunch at Loma Linda University in November
... the event raises money for Proton Research.
Dr Richard Hart, who is one of
my heros, joined me in tossing a few of the little missles to the audience ... db
