"reaffirming the traditional definition of marriage"
First Verse:
Do you take this woman to be your wedded wife
to have and
to hold for the rest of your life
in sickness and in health or whatever comes
your way
are you going to stay beside her until your dying day
Do you take
this fellow to be your only man
to be his loving partner and do the best you can
when
the road gets rough and lonely will you not run off and hide
do you promise to
stay right there by his side
CHORUS:
Smart and final are the words we're
gonna live by
lets only tie this knot if we agree
our love is final and its
smart
we're tied together at the heart
if there's one thing that we are
it's
smart and final
SECOND VERSE
He may come home and tell you that he has
lost his job
there may be times when all your friends look like an angry mob
those
relatives may come around and put you to the test
remember that together you can
always find whats best
You may come home and find her crying over some silly
TV show
and when you try to find out why she'll say that she don't know
to
have a good relationship always stay involved
together there's no problem you
can't solve
CHORUS:
Smart and final are the words we're gonna live by
lets
only tie this knot if we agree
our love is final and its smart
we're tied together
at the heart
if there's one thing that we are
it's smart and final
THIRD
VERSE:
Get out the family Bible and read it every day
hold hands around the
table and don't forget to pray
what the good Lord brought together may it last
forevermore
that man and wife should have a bond is one that God adores
A
day of rest will come around just once in every week
take some time to fellowship
and pray and sing and seek
learn all you can of Jesus Christ and put Him in your
heart
together build a family no one can tear apart
CHORUS:
Smart and
final are the words we're gonna live by
lets only tie this knot if we agree
our
love is final and its smart
we're tied together at the heart
if there's one
thing that we are
it's smart and final
TAG:
if there's one thing that
we are ...
... it's smart ... and final ...

Theme Song Released For Traditional Marriage Amendment
Today, Danney Ball, a country and gospel performing songwriter, announced that
he is re-releasing his song "Smart & Final", to correspond
with
efforts to place a measure on the California ballot defining marriage as only between
a man and a woman.
"It is unofficial", Ball said, "but I will
be proud to allow this song and it's powerful message to be used to wake up a sleepy
public to what is
really at stake here. Without clarification our Constitution
and our liberties are in grave danger. Today, with what is taking place, I am sure
if
it was possible, our founding Father's would be turning over in their graves."
Although
Ball admits the song was written from a Christian and Biblical perspective he insists
that the idea of protecting traditional marriage
is just in everyones best interests.
He says that marriage as a Christian ceremony can never recognize anything else but
how it is defined in The
Holy Bible.
"The building blocks of great
societies are held together by good laws and ethics that take a look at nature and
respond with sound rulings, Ball
said. History shows only too clear what happens
when these ideas are overlooked."
Ball, who is a student of history and
has run for political office several times went on.
"If couples are proud
of their status as gay and living together, then they should be only too happy to
have a separate designation for all the
world to see. They will never obtain marriage
in the eyes of any church, school, or organization that proclaims belief in The Bible."
When
ask about the few churches who do perform weddings for gay couples Ball responds.
"Love
alone is not the answer to this legal and moral question. If that is the case, then
people who love their animals, or multiple partners, or anything
that one loves
could presumably be open for the marriage vow situation."
Any final words
for your press release Mr Ball?
"Clearly, the best answer here is for
the law to define marriage as only between a man and a woman. Any other union between
ANYTHING
should have a different title and could be legal, but not moral in the
eyes of many, and certainly a bit unusual in the eyes of children and others."
