me take you to your mother
she didn't know if you were lost

You know where my mother is?
Yes. I'd like to see her right away.
I can't believe she still has that little
cross I bought her.
I was probably only eight or nine when I spotted that little
cross
in the window down at the jewelry store.
It was five dollars and I worked
delivering papers after school
to buy that cross for mom for her birthday.
She
sure liked it though. She always kept it in her Bible and I
remember how she would
read it to us and then pray.
It sure has been a long time. I know she'll be
surprised
to see me.

You know I got off on the wrong track
and became hopelessly hooked on alcohol and drugs.
I almost died. But one day
a man came along and saw what a terrible condition I was in and
he took me into
his home and reintroduced me to the same loving Jesus Christ that my mother
used
to read to us kids about. I accepted Christ as my Savior and He forgave me of all
my
sins and changed my life ... but I could never find my mother to tell her.
I
know it was her prayers that got me through.
I can't wait to see her face. Will
you please take me to her now.
